Here are the notes for the whole Plants section.  I've been holding off on putting them up because I wanted to make sure that I got through them first.

Assignment:

Not going to lie, I've gotten busy here the last couple of weeks sorting things out for the CUT, grading the CUT and then getting the quarter grades in.

A nice deep exhale, and then a long breath in, here we go.

This week we buckled down adn started working more into the Kingdom of Plants, which is out next unit of study in both classes. Other than introducing the topic, and reviewing a few keys points we actually started working on some of the finder details of the plant.

Today, the 7th grade classes, worked on dissecting a seed for a lab today.  This is the beginning of a few dissections that we do in class, and it started the proper practices in doing a dissection.  Being careful, delicate, and gentle are what's key with dissecting a seed.

In the enriched classes, we go through the different parts of the leaf yesterday, and the parts of the flower today.  On Friday we are going to do the flower dissection, to get a closer look at the parts of the flower.

I didn't mention tomorrow, as most of our students are going on our field trip up to the state capital building and state museum up in Albany NY.

Science Project Part 1:

By Friday January 27, 2012

I need 3 good scientific questions that you want to study and experiment.

Remember there are some rules

No testing on humans that will hurt or harm them.
No Testing on animals in ANY way.
No using harmful chemicals.

Next week, you are going to be researching these questions (after I look over them) and picking which one you like most. For now, consider this part brain storming. What can you change? What can you improve? How would you do it? Question the world!
